Forecasting Modeling @ AbsolutData

Forecasting is a process which is known worldwide to do estimation is situations which are unknown. It is same like predicting something. Forecasting modeling is used to observe of planning of customer demand in every day business predictions for most of the manufacturing companies. The regulation of demand planning, which is also known as supply chain forecasting, covers both consensus process and statistical process of forecasting. 

There are four major categories of forecasting modeling: 

Time Series Method - This type of method is generally consisting of historical data as for the estimation figure outcomes. It is categorized into various parts like moving edge which is basically the moving average in statistic terms. Exponential smoothing is a technique applied to the so as to give a smooth data for presentation. Extrapolation, Linear prediction, Trend estimation, Growth curve are other parts of it. 

Judgmental Method - this type of forecasting method incorporates the judgments which are intuitive. It also deals with subjective probability and opinions. This is also categorized into various parts like composite methods, surveys, technology forecasting, forecasting by analogy, etc.
 
Econometric Method - there are some methods which apply assumptions that may be possible to know the factors which can show their influence in the variability of the forecast. For example, sales of umbrella are a great association with changing weather. When the causes are reasoning is quite understood, influencing variations can be made and be used in the forecast.
 
Other methods - some other methods are simulation, reference class forecasting, prediction market, ensemble forecasting, probability forecasting.
