Thank you for attending the IFMA Data Analytics Summit Oct 15, 2019. Based on the round table sessions and your feedback, we’ve highlighted 6 dominant themes IFMA members were interested in exploring further. These themes focus on challenges that many attendees faced in moving data analytics innovation forward. For each of these themes, we’ve offered an action plan.
6 CHALLENGES, 6 ACTIONS
Select the most valuable business opportunity relevant to your organization below to see a quick outline of actions you can take:
SENIOR LEADERSHIP BUY-IN: We need to align leadership on the importance of using data analytics to new drive growth. How can I get executive sponsorship for a new data analytics initiative?
CHANGE MANAGEMENT: Those of us who attended the summit see the need to innovate with data analytics, however several areas of the company are resistant to change. How can we educate multiple functions in the company on the value of data analytics and the importance of moving forward now?
DATA OPPORTUNITIES: Bringing the right data together has been our biggest challenge: prioritizing data, accuracy, linking data sets, cleaning data, etc. What internal data should we be using, how do we get it analytics-ready efficiently, and what external data is most valuable?
VALUE & IMPACT: We were impressed with the results that forward-thinking foodservice manufacturers were getting. How can we share these results and impact at my company, to gain interest and priority for new initiatives?
SALES TEAM BUY-IN & ACCEPTANCE: The sales organization doesn’t want to learn yet another tool unless they really understand how it can help THEM make or exceed their numbers. How can we get the attention of our sales organization when the noise about tools is so high, and many tools haven’t delivered real results that benefit them?
COST: We understand the value and want to drive this hard for 2020. How do we estimate the cost for our company to fully implement more innovative data analytics?
